Great Practice Weekend!!
29/01/06 21:21
Great weekend for the Invictas!!! We spent Most of the day Saturday and Sunday working some new tunes as well going over some of our present material. New songs we worked on a rockin!! ZZ-TOP, Give me all your lovin, Mony, Mony, Good Time Rock and Roll, a GREAT Chuck Berry 3-song medley and a new Stones song. All rock!! We really updated the Chuck Berry stuff to give it a hard rock 2006 sound. The three tunes are "Memphis, Reelin & a Rockin, and Sweet Little 16.
Dinner with the crew Saturday night (Herb, Bruce, Dave's and Bruce's wife) went, after dinner, to a club to check out a country band that has fronted for a lot of major county groups. Me? I was tired and needed to do some computer stuff (go figure). We are looking at a lot of venues this summer. We will start the "Summer 2006" tour at the California Brew House first weekend in June. More on gigs later!!! I'll have some pictures from the practice posted Monday.

The beginning......

Heading out Saturday AM for Rochester. I will be practicing all weekend with the Invictas for our Summer 2006 Tour!! It is amazing that us guys (the three original Invictas) stayed friends for all these years - even through the good and bad. We will be learning some new tunes....some ZZ Top, etc. We are also writing some new material. I am also looking for another bass bottom. Many of the clubs we play at, well the Couch (very large bottom!!) is just to big. So...it will be the Guitar Center Saturday to look at a bottom with 4-10"s. Should be a great weekend!!
Invictas Rock Again!
24/01/06 21:12
We, The Invictas - the greatest group in the '60's and now the 00's, are starting practicing this weekend. Since we come from various parts of the country, well at least Herb and me, we spend all weekend. Start Saturday around 11:00 and end around 4:30. We end at that time only because the Big Guy, Dave Profeta, is playing out that night. Sunday abou the same.
We are also learning some new tunes as well and writing some new material. More on that later. Anyway....I am really looking forward to rocking out again this summer. As the bass player, I know the fans love the bass and are looking forward to it!!

Get ready!! I am in the plans of creating an Invictas Podcast and maybe even a video cast. I suspect it will take a couple of weeks to sort it out but when done, I hope to get the podcast up on iTunes!! Stay tuned!!
Back from a week of Travel
21/01/06 15:21
Well, this week I spent a couple of days in Rochester then headed for the big apple - New York City!! I had to give a talk in Jersey Thursday night to a Printer Group. I stayed in Times Square and hit a couple of small (if anything is small in New York) Irish Pubs and enjoyed some Guinness. New York is crazy! At 2 AM in the morning you would think you were in Erie on Peach Street at Noon!!
My talk centered around the "History of the World through Print". The group was the New Jersey Craftsmen club and was held at the Academy of the Visual Arts" which is a high school centered around the arts. Students were invited to join in the activities.
Spent a lot of time today catching up and adding to the web site - other bands I played in which were "These Odds & Ends" and "Witchcraft".
I'll be adding to the blog this week as I am in town all week.

What a Great Day!
15/01/06 20:02
What a great day it was today!! Son number 1, Max, and I drove up from Erie to Buffalo today so I could hit the Buffalo Apple Store. I wanted to pick up the new releases of iLife and iWork. We were to drive up on Saturday but the weather was bad due to snow in the morning and early afternoon. We decided to go today, Sunday as the weather was beautiful. Sunny skies were the rule!! Even though Max is a Windows guy (come on, he does have an old G3 that I give him a while back), I think he enjoyed hanging at the Apple Store. We did have to keep an eye on him so he didn't spill Bill Gates verbiage!
The big treat was when he treated me for lunch. I was going to buy the Starbucks but he insisted we do lunch. What a great treat!! I really enjoyed the day. As I was driving, I could not enjoy the nice tall Sam Adams beer he had!! Nice drive back to Erie and all in all a great day!! Nothing like Dad and son hanging!!

First "Blog" from the New and improved Kohl-Air Web Site!
10/01/06 18:23
Well, this is a first for this "Techie"!! A blog! OK, What the heck is a "blog"? In the early days it was known as a "Web Log". I guess with "Blah, Blah, Blah" it became known as a "blog" - "Blah-Log"!
I'll update the blog from time to time as I update and add more stuff to the site and have more to say. Many more photos will be added and changed on a regular basis! I'll even try to add a video clip now and then.
Well today was the big day for us Mac users!! MacWorld started up today and Steve Jobs gave his keynote speach! Lots of new stuff. End of the Powerbook as he released the new MacBookPro, with the new dual core 1.87 ghz Intel processor. New iLife, iWork and the new iMac with the Intel chips. Check out APPLE for all the info. These new MacBookPro Books should blow away PC Laptops. You have to know one is in my future!! The new iMac is twice as fast and should be a kick-A computer! Take that Dell!
